Konstantinos Karampelas
Co-Founder | Technical Direction – CLT Greece
Konstantinos Karampelas is a co-founder of CLT Greece and is active in the technical design and implementation of modern wooden construction solutions, with an emphasis on the structural utilization of wood and sustainable development.
He possesses deep knowledge of the timber industry, stemming from many years of involvement in a family business with a long presence in the industry. The Karampelas family has been active in the timber sector since 1929, with the current form of the company, Afoi Karampela S.A., having established itself as one of the most reliable timber suppliers in Greece.
In the context of his professional activity, he represents distinguished foreign timber houses and maintains long-term collaborations with producers and industries in Northern and Central Europe. Through an extensive network of international professional relationships, he contributes to connecting the Greek market with international quality standards, certifications, and modern practices for timber supply and application.
His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Marketing / Marketing Management from The American College of Greece.
His professional activity focuses on bridging timber expertise with innovative construction practices and managing high-specification technical and international partnerships.

Iliana Kostaki
Co-Founder | Strategic Development – CLT Greece
Iliana Kostaki is a co-founder of CLT Greece and is active in the strategic planning and development of the company, with an emphasis on forming partnerships and positioning CLT as a reliable load-bearing structural system in the modern Greek construction market.
She possesses many years of experience in the timber industry, with substantial knowledge in raw materials, supply chain, and quality control, gained through her long professional career in the family company G. Kostakis S.A., which has been active in timber trading and processing since 1980.
At the same time, she is a founding member and shareholder of Argotechniki A.T.E., contributing to the connection of strategy, material, and application in construction projects.
Her academic background includes studies in Business Administration at the University of Macedonia, a Master’s degree (MSc) from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and an MBA from the University of Ioannina.
Her professional activity focuses on the strategic development of CLT Greece and the implementation of projects with high technical and quality specifications, in accordance with international standards and modern construction practices.
The Birth of CLT Greece
Coming from families with nearly a century of presence in the timber industry and sharing a common commitment to the numerous natural benefits of wood, the founders of CLT Greece envisioned introducing an innovative construction technology to the Greek market.
CLT Greece was established to bring Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) to the forefront in Greece—a material that has already gained international dominance. In countries where wooden construction is a cornerstone of the building industry, CLT has been recognized as a pioneering, sustainable, and highly durable solution. However, in Greece, it remained largely unknown or misunderstood.
With profound knowledge of timber, the founders of CLT Greece recognized that the absence of this technology in Greece was not just a business gap but an untapped opportunity. It was a solution that needed to be introduced to the construction sector, offering new and reliable alternatives beyond conventional materials.
Twenty years ago, through collaborations with suppliers in Northern and Central Europe, they discovered CLT before it became a globally established material. They didn’t just observe—they experienced it firsthand. They worked with pioneering companies, studied production processes, witnessed projects come to life, and lived in CLT buildings, understanding its real value: rapid construction, fewer labor requirements, natural feel, thermal comfort, durability, and sustainability.
The conclusion was clear: who better to introduce and establish CLT in Greece than individuals who know, believe in, and continuously develop it? Thus, CLT Greece was born—not just as a company but as a mission. Its goal is to make CLT known, accessible, and dominant in the Greek market, bringing this transformative construction material of the future into Greece’s present.
